How to Apply Clown Makeup

Clown makeup is becoming one of the most popular makeups used by many youngsters today whether it’s just for fun or dressing according to the theme of the party. You can use some simple makeup items such as lipstick, eye-shadow, eyeliner, white powder and a clown’s nose if you are doing yourself at home. But, for a professional clown makeup, you may like to go for face paint.

Tips to Apply Clown Makeup: So, if you are considering doing clown makeup, you may like to go through the following tips to help you get the perfect clown makeup look.

White Layer (white paint) Application: Before applying any makeup to your nose, lips and eyes, you need to apply the white layer over your entire face properly. Blend it thoroughly and allow the white paint to dry completely before you put on other clown makeup on your face. Don’t forget that a complete dried white paint is a good base for the remaining makeup, for it will help your makeup to stay last longer.

Clown Nose Makeup: First, you need to outline around your rose or draw a circle around your nose by using red face paint. Ensure that your entire nose is inside the red circle, except the bridge of your nose. Once you have outlined a red circle around the nose, slowly fill in with the red face paint. A clown’s nose is generally red, however you can also try using other colors. Opt for a foam version clown nose if you don’t like the idea of painting on your nose. You can find this easily at almost any costume shop.

Clown Lip Makeup: You can create a frowning or smiling face look around your lips by using a red or any other color face paint. So, decide which look you want to achieve before you start applying anything. First you should outline your mouth and after you get the perfect shape, start filling in the face paint.

Emphasize Your Eyebrows: Your entire face including your eyebrow has been painted white layer, so you can emphasize your eyebrow by drawing whatever shape you like, whether you choose to make your face look sad, happy, angry or silly.

Paint Your Eyelids: If you’ve already used red for your lips and nose, you should use different color, other than red for painting your eyelids. Instead of simply coloring the eyelids, you can add design like freckles, dots and stars around your eyes or on your cheeks.

Well, so by following the above tips you can achieve a great clown makeup look. However, there are no hard and fast rules for applying clown makeup, so use your imagination and creativity to make your clown makeup look unique, colorful and stand out from the crowd.
